Our nation’s military and Veterans are some of the brightest and best our country has to offer, often entrusted with challenging and sometimes secretive tasks to keep us safe. With this great responsibility comes the reality that soldiers may be prime targets for a unique array of scams, fraud, and counterintelligence operations from threats locally and globally.
While the military does conduct annual cyber training, there are gaps where we can better support our servicemen, servicewomen, and their families in a better capacity. Often, the cyber awareness training isn’t able to cover all the realistic threats in a short period of time or may present things in a way that are harder to digest for soldiers.
Additionally, resources for mil spouses, mil families, and Veterans are nearly non-existent, though their proximity to sensitive information and people who possess sensitive information can make them equally viable targets to bad actors.
