Ideally, the best way to get more dates and have more success online is to create a unique and perfectly tailored online dating profile. That being said, we totally understand that some people are just terrible at writing. It’s okay. There’s literally nothing wrong with that. If that’s you and you’re completely stuck, we wanted to give you a solution that might help. Enter our dating profile template.
Now before we give you the dating profile template, we do want to offer a few resources to give things a shot on your own. These resources are phenomenal if you want to give making something unique one last shot.
Make Sure You’re Using a Quality Dating Site
The last thing we want to share before we get to the dating profile templates is this. If you’re not using a quality dating site, you can have the greatest profile on the planet, and it’s not going to do you any good. If you haven’t found a quality option yet or you’re not sure, here are a few of our favorite options.
Dating Profile Headline Template
The first part of your dating profile is your headline. This is the area where you can put a few words to grab someone’s attention. Generally, this is shown in searches and swipe-style functions, so it’s really important to try and get that attention for them to look at your full profile!
Here is the online dating profile header template.

For Adjective, fill in a word that describes you. Here is a list of examples that work great with this template:

For Partner Adjective, fill in a word that describes what you’re looking for in your partner. You can use any of the examples given in the above list.
For Partner Gender, put in the gender that you’re looking for.
Examples
Let’s say you’re a man who is really driven looking for a loving woman.
(Adjective) (Gender) Looking For a (Partner Adjective) (Partner Gender)
Driven Man Looking for a Loving Woman
Or let’s say you’re a funny woman who is looking for a guy who has seen the world.
(Adjective) (Gender) Looking For a (Partner Adjective) (Partner Gender)
Funny Woman Looking for a Well-Traveled Man
It’s really that simple! And by switching out the adjectives, you can personalize things without having to rack your brain to come up with what to say.
Dating Profile About Me Template
Once you have your heading in place, it’s time to move onto the About Me section. This is the area where you get to tell potential dates and mates a little about yourself.
Here is the dating profile about me template.
Hi, I’m (Your Name)! I’m a (Gender) who loves (Thing You Like), (Thing You Like), and (Thing You Like). I’m looking for a (Partner Gender) who is (Partner Adjective), (Partner Adjective), and (Partner Adjective). If that sounds like you, take a second and send me a message. I’d love to hear from you!
So, if your name is Bob, you’re a man looking for a woman, you like to work out, run, and eat sushi and you’re looking for a woman who is independent, crafty, and family-oriented…here’s what that would look like.
Hi, I’m Bob! I’m a man who loves working out, running, and eating sushi. I’m looking for a woman who is independent, crafty, and family-oriented. If that sounds like you, take a second and send me a message. I’d love to hear from you!
It’s that easy! All you have to do is come up with three things that you like or like to do and three things you want in a date or a mate. Once you have those things, just plug them into the dating profile template and your about me section is complete.
If you’re stuck on figuring out things you like, here are a few suggestions:
- What kind of foods do you like to eat?
- What are your hobbies, or how do you like to spend your time? Working out? Reading? Running? Shopping? Good conversation? Movies? Classic movies? Sports? Learning about something? Volunteering? Going to church? Dancing? Challenging yourself? Puzzles? Board games? Karaoke? Craft beers? Wine? Spending time with a pet or family member? Training for something?
- What’s your favorite sports team?
- Do you have any special talents?
If you get stuck here, you can always phone a friend for help! Just ask them to tell you a few things that they’ve seen you doing. Or you can just take a notepad around with you and take notes when you do things. You should be able to come up with three things for the dating profile template pretty quickly.
Tips For Using These Dating Profile Templates Properly
- Make sure it reads well. After you plug in what you need to into the template, take a step back and read it all the way through. Does it sound right? Did you use the right form of the word? Does it give off the feeling that you were looking for? If it does, awesome! If it doesn’t, make the small adjustments necessary.
- Have someone else read it for you. A great strategy to make sure that your dating profile reads well is to have someone else who knows you read it. Just ask them to read through it and see if it sounds good and describes you well. Don’t be shy; that’s what friends and family are for!
- Read our profile guide, even if you’re using the template. At the top of the page, we linked to our guide on how to write the perfect online dating profile. And you might think you don’t need to read that if you’re using the template, but you’d be mistaken! There’s more that goes into your profile than just these sections. The guide shares free tips on things like your pictures, what not to do, how often to update things, and so much more. Take a few minutes and check it out!
